Most of us know the slogan "Just Do It" by Nike. It seems to capture the essence of power and success. There is no room for whining or excuses, "Just Do It!"

The same is true of running a great business. I call it "Do It Now! Financial Management". Successful businesses are run by people who take action. No room for whining or excuses. If you want to be successful, you must take action, Everyday.

Great businesses are built by people that know two things: 1) Everyday, Do something for the future, 2) Everyday, Do something to bring in money. It seems simple but how many of us don’t do this? So, Do It Now!

Start Now: Everyday, Do something for the future. Call your CPA and set up a "Strategy Meeting". Big businesses do it, why shouldn’t you. Do It Now! Why? Your CPA can save you a lot of MONEY if you ask them how. Don’t wait until they mail you your tax return and you whine about how much you pay in taxes. Your CPA has ideas and suggestions about things you can do NOW to improve your business and save money, but you have to ask. I know a business that will save $8,000 in taxes this year by structuring a vehicle purchase in a certain manner. Do It Now!

Everyday, Do something to bring in money. Make 4 phone calls to collect Accounts Receivable. Do It Now! Why? It is your money. Every day that goes by, you are less likely to collect that receivable. Sales are meaningless until the money is collected so get active in collections sooner then later, and never do business with someone that won’t pay you. I received an invoice in the mail two weeks ago that wasn’t due for a month. I put it in a pile of paper on my desk and ignored it. Yesterday, I received another invoice from the same company showing that this bill was due in two weeks. I paid the bill. They got paid by being active. Do It Now!

"Do It Now! Financial Management" is one tool you can use to make your business successful. And remember, no whining, Do It Now!
