GUT CHECK!
If you have a budget, we applaud you! Let’s make sure it is the best road map it can be.
- A sheet for Budget Overview, Income, COGS and Expenses?
- A Gross Profit and Net Profit line?
- Monthly subtotals?
- Up-to-date numbers?
If you need to create a budget, click here to download an Excel file you can use as a template to get started.
These numbers do not show up on budgets, but can easily be added under Net Profit so you see the true impact of your cash needs.
You should! A road map is only as good as you use it, and by checking it against your actual numbers you will be able to act as necessary moving forward – in future budgeting as well as adjusting your activities to compensate for any shortfalls.
To have your budget be the most effective tool it can be, you need to look at revenues at any given time by:
- Month
- Year-to-Date
- Last month
- Last year
If your current bookkeeping does not allow you to do that, consider QuickBooks or other software to make this easy.
